Morne du Rand Improving Internet Connection at Aquila
Since the Aquila contract began, Morne du Rand, Senior IT Coordinator has been investigating ways to improve the internet connection onsite. With the office being situated in a low lying area, it had little to no 4G mobile coverage.
Giving up was never an option. The idea was to move the 4G router to the top of a nearby hill, create a link back down to our office, using very low power and it needed to be managed remotely with system alerts. This trailer has ticked all the boxes. During a normal day the solar can provide more than enough power to supply the equipment with power and recharge the batteries.
