Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Jeff Whiteman Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Jeff is a senior executive with extensive experience in civil contracting and contract mining, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and capital structuring. Jeff has previously been Executive General Manager of the largest drill and blast contractor in Australia , CFO of a large Queensland based civil and mining contractor and CFO of an ASX200 agribusiness. Prior to transitioning into the corporate sector, Jeff built deep corporate finance skills with PwC and was the Queensland Head for a large mid-market private equity business.

Jeff is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a Corporate Financier, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering.

Matt Ruhl Chief Financial Officer

Matt has more than 20 years of Finance, Operational and Commercial experience with deep expertise in the Mining Industry across Australia and Asia working across the mining supply chain. Degree and CPA Qualified, Matt is commercially focused, results driven and has a passion for building strong teams with a continuous improvement mindset.

Wayne Price Chief Operating Officer

Wayne has 30 years’ experience within the Underground Mining Industry. Throughout Wayne’s career he has held various senior management roles including Executive General Manager, Director, Mining Consultant and General Manager.

Wayne’s area of expertise includes the implementation of leading strata management practices, implementation and management of material risk controls and reviewing mining performance & improvement opportunities.

Wayne is a mad mountain bike rider, having completed in numerous 24 hour team races and other events. In recent years he has been riding in a 7 day event to raise money for the Westpac Helicopter, with the intention of doing many more.

Ruth Ey General Manager People

Ruth has 15 years of HR experience specialised in the Mining Industry spanning from deployments in Brazil and Australia, with extensive experience working on-site in Underground Coal Operations. Degree Qualified and a Diploma in Positive Psychology Ruth is passionate about developing and delivering learning programs to ensure our people thrive.

Joining Mastermyne in 2016, Ruth’s journey from operational roles to her current position as Group Manager People showcases her passion for growth and her dedication to enhancing organisational value. Known for her insatiable appetite for learning and people development along with her unwavering commitment, Ruth is not only respected; she’s earnt the trust and admiration of both her colleagues and the operational teams she supports.

Clinton Page General Manager Technical Services

Clinton is a highly experienced Mining Engineering Professional, with over 23 years, holding Senior Mine Operational and Technical positions in tier-one underground coal businesses.

Throughout Clinton’s career he has a vast experience in the mining sector, ranging from production management, planning and technical design, project portfolio management, business restructuring & improvement, complex brownfield mine expansion project delivery, whilst ensuring a key focus on critical risk management.

Clinton enjoys keeping up with his active family through many sporting clubs and events.
General Manager Strata Consolidation

Gordon Draper General Manager Strata Consolidation

Gordon has worked underground for 13 years, moving from QLD Operations Manager into the GM role June 2023. In senior management roles with Wilson Mining since 2019, he has built strong relationships with our clients and suppliers, turning the business around into one of the best performers in the market.
Gordon has a strong focus on HSEC, HR, Finance, Supply Chain and R&D, always striving for continuous improvement. During his tenure, Wilson Mining has currently achieved 2 years RI Free and a TRIFR of Zero. Gordon’s qualifications include Diploma Project Management, Cert IV in Training and Assessment along with Supervisor qualifications.
Regional GM - Qld & Illawarra

Pat McCoy Regional GM - Qld & Illawarra

Pat has over 25 years of experience in the Australian coal mining industry—across both open cut and underground and brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the team.

He has held senior roles at Hilti Australia, Falcon Mining, Diversified Mining Services, JET Group, and of course, Mastermyne, where he has previously held the roles of NSW Operations Manager, Executive GM QLD Mining, and GM Product & Plant Development.

Pat’s passion for leadership and high-performance teams, backed by training with Neuro and People HQ, makes him a great asset to our business.
Regional GM - NSW North & West

Dean Brown Regional GM - NSW North & West

Dean is a dedicated mining professional with over a decade of experience in the underground coal mining industry. With a strong technical background and a deep understanding of strata consolidation, Dean brings both expertise and leadership to his role as Regional General Manager – NSW North & West.

Throughout his career, Dean has held a variety of operational and leadership positions across major mining projects in New South Wales. His strengths lie in his unwavering commitment to safety, exceptional communication skills, and proven ability to lead teams and deliver on contract KPIs.

Dean plays a key role in overseeing the performance of Mastermyne’s NSW North and West projects, ensuring they meet safety, productivity, and compliance targets. His practical experience and focus on continuous improvement make him an integral part of the team.
